Tellghana News gathered information about the said leakage and per the document tellghana monitored, GES has come out with a communique disclaiming the leakage of WASSCE papers.
Below is the full statement and it reads:
“The attention of Management of Ghana Education Service(GES) has been drawn to some discussions in the public domain that a paper of the on- going West African secondary School Certificate Examination[WASSCE) has leaked and the accompanying twist to the eftect that the paper has been leaked deliberately to ensure that the candidates pass the examinations.
Management of GES wishes to assure all candidates and the general public thal the said questions paper making the rounds is FAKE. Indeed there is no WASSCE subject written by Ghanaian candidates called General Paper.
No candidate should waste his or her time on it and concentrate on their
Management further assures the candidates and the general public that the
examinations are being managed by responsible men and women who will never sacrifice the integrity of the examinations for any other expediency.
The general public might recall the purported leakage of examination questions has become an annual ritual and should be seen in that light and therefore should not allow themselves to be deceived by any propagandist seeking to achieve some mischievous objectives.
All efforts are being made to track those behind the purported leaked fake paper and that parents and guardians should continue to urge their wards to be focused and not to be distracted by these purported leaked questions.”
Note, however, that the 2020 science paper would not be cancelled.
