A heated argument ensued between the former Municipal Chief Executive for Ejisu, Hon Afrifa Yamoah Ponkor, and the Member of Parliament for Bantama, Hon. Daniel Okyem Aboagye.
In relation to the scuffle, personnel from the Asokwa Divisional Command of the Ghana Police Service on Thursday morning were invited to pick up Hon. Afrifa Yamoah Ponkor.
The show, which was originally meant to be a platform for sharing ideas and propose solutions for curbing some societal and national issues turned into a haven of chaos which led to Hon. Okyem placing a call to the Asokwa Divisional Police Command to come to pick up Hon. Ponkor.
According to the police, they had a distress call from their Central Command to rush to the Akoma FM premises to arrest Yamoah Ponkor because he had threatened the MP’s life during a live program.
The scuffle started after Yamoah Ponkor referred to Okyem Aboagye’s submission as “childish”, then the argument escalated into an exchange of harsh words, which Okyem Aboagye considered as life-threatening.
The two were separated by the Producers and host GhanAkoma, Aduanaba Kofi Asante Ennin. The show had to be stopped abruptly because the scene was very disturbing.
The former MCE did not want to follow the police to the station for questioning because he had a medical appointment with his doctor.
